Today will be another double-post day. Regular programming will resume shortly, but I wanted to make a short announcement first. Tonight, 8/31/11, at 7pm EST, Drew Magary will be signing his debut novel THE POSTMORTAL at Politics & Prose.
Drew (@drewmagary) writes for Deadspin, Kissing Suzy Kolber, GQ, Maxim, and NBC, among other places. Drew’s blogging style has been described as “salty” by others. I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I’m a fan of his snarky, crude jokes about sports and office life.
THE POSTMORTAL is a dystopian science fiction novel about the consequences of discovering a cure for aging. With immortality comes a ton of new problems. The novel is told through short news clips and journal entries, which seems fitting given Magary’s blogging. And, of course there’s snark and sex and violence. So far, the book is getting very good reviews, and I look forward to meeting Magary and reading his book. If you’re in the area, and can make it, come to the signing.
