So the 47th Nebula Awards Weekend begins this Thursday evening. For the past couple of years, it has been held basically just down the road from where I live, so I’ve wanted to go for a while now. And this year, I actually get to.
I’m pretty excited. It looks like they are going to have some interesting panels and some great authors doing signings. The only thing is, I’ve never been to something like this. I’ve never been to a Con or any other big sci-fi event. So I turn to you–any advice for a first-timer?
I’m packing a bag full of books to be signed, pads, pens, a few cards, and snacks. Anything else I need to bring?
Faux pas to avoid? Other than being an idiot fanboy, obviously? (I’ll try to keep that to a minimum.)
What about advice in general? How should I approach the weekend? What should I try to learn? What should I try to experience?
