Old and New Fantasy Come Together

Terry Brooks, author of the THE SWORD OF SHANNARA books, and Patrick Rothfuss, author of the THE NAME OF THE WIND and THE WISE MAN’S FEAR, have posted a four-part interview that alternates between their websites: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4.

For many people’s Brooks’s Shannara books were an entry into fantasy. This is still true today, even though the books were written nearly 40 years ago. And now Rothfuss’s books are well on their way to becoming fantasy classics (even with the third book in the trilogy still to be published). It’s interesting to see the two authors comparing their influences, their writing, and the careers. You should check them out.
