Gravity Trailer

The trailer for Gravity has been released. Directed by Alfonso Cuaron (Children of Men, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban), it stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as astronauts who are left drifting in space when debris wrecks their shuttle and (apparently?) the International Space Station as well. Check it out.

Holy moley. Does that look terrifying. Just looking at the preview I could feel my heart racing and my breathing grow shallow. Despite the emptiness of space, I would say I felt claustrophobic or on the verge of a panic attack. And yet, despite all that, I can’t wait to see it. It’s such a simple, stark idea, with such minimal cast and on screen visuals. I just hope the movie can sustain that idea for its full length. But with a solid cast and crew, I would imagine so.

What do you think?

  1. They made a full movie about two people being stranded in the ocean in Open Water. Probably the same set of challenges and that turned out great and terrifying. I’ll be curious to see how this plot resolves itself.
