The trailer for “The Great Gatsby” was released today. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, and Tobey Maguire, it’s directed by Baz Lurhmann. Check it out.
What do you think? I mean, it’s clearly got Baz Lurhmann written all over it. The parties look like “Moulin Rouge” and the tangled love story looks like “Romeo + Juliet.” But while I was excited about those movies, I don’t feel the same way about this one. Maybe it’s the “high school reading assignment” aspect (but that wasn’t the case for “Romeo + Juliet”), or maybe it’s the total bummer of an ending (more likely). I wonder if future trailers will change my mind. But as for now, I think I’ll pass. Leave your opinions below.
