Rachel Aaron’s Eli Monpress series is coming to an end with the release of SPIRIT’S END, the fifth and final book in the Eli Monpress series.
I know some fantasy fans don’t like to pick up a new series until the author has finished writing it (Robert Jordan Syndrome, perhaps?), so now you have no excuse not to read the Eli Monpress series. In fact, with the holidays coming up, you have the opposite incentive–to ask for Book 1, or Books 1-3, to be precise.
You see, you can start with THE LEGEND OF ELI MONPRESS, an omnibus that contains the first three books in the series, THE SPIRIT THIEF, THE SPIRIT REBELLION, AND THE SPIRIT EATER.
Heck, reading THE SPIRIT THIEF will hook you for the duration of the series, I’m sure. Aaron has created a wonderful cast of characters, a unique magic system, and a richly detailed world. Aaron has created a fantasy adventure story with heart, humor, and hints of darkness (that become more apparent in the later books). Fantasy fans who are tired of dark, gritty fantasy or fantasy that takes itself too seriously will love this series. Aaron will remind you of the fun and adventure that first hooked you on fantasy when you were younger.
From there, it’s a quick read through the rest of the Spirit books, then book four, THE SPIRIT WAR.
You might want to do yourself a favor and just buy all the books in the Eli Monpress series now. You won’t regret it. I’ve been a fan of Aaron for a while now. Not only is she a talented writer, but she also takes a lot of time to talk to her fans and give advice to aspiring writers. So what are you waiting for?
