Apparently the movie will tell the story of the friendship and eventual falling out between Julian Assange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and WikiLeaks spokesperson Daniel Domscheit-Berg. The movie is based on two books, “Inside WikiLeaks,” by Domscheit-Berg, and “WikiLeaks: Inside Julian Assange’s War on Secrecy” by two reporters from The Guardian. Here it is:
I’m a Cumberbatch film, and it’s an interesting topic, so I will probably check this out. But I wonder to what extent the story will be hyped and sensationalized, ultimately weakening the impact of WikiLeaks? I also wonder how the movie will treat Assange? Hero, villain, both?
So I guess I’m not on board yet, but willing to check it out as of now. What do you think?
