I have another article on Fantasy-Faction.com. it’s a discussion about possible futures for urban fantasy. On the one hand, publishers are showing some reluctance to purchase new urban fantasy series. In my mind, this would lead to urban fantasy not so much dying off, so much as finding homes in new genres. On the other hand, urban fantasy was born by mixing other genres, so it’s always been hidden or blended to some degree.
When the article first posted, there was a very negative reaction, looking just at the voting score. I tweeted that I wasn’t surprised by this, as predicting the swallowing up of a beloved genre is guaranteed to cause some controversy. But there weren’t any comments to help me understand people’s reaction. But it looks like both the comments and the score has picked up. Take a look at the article. Let me know what you think.
