Post-Holiday Wrap Up

So the holidays are over. It’s now 2014, and my wife and I will take down our Christmas tree this weekend. Laura and I were able to visit with a lot of friends and family, and all in all it was a great time. Lots of fun, lots of laughs, and lots of food–especially cookies, my kryptonite.

The one negative thing of the whole holiday season was that my parents were kind enough to give me a cold that they in turn picked up from my sister. So I’m feeling pretty crappy–coughing, achey, and a bit feverish.

The good news is that I’ve managed to keep up with my resolutions. I’ve also been able to read a bit more, as there is very little I an do other than nap, drink fluids, and take meds. Of course, taking my snow-loving dog out in 1-degree wind chills this morning probably didn’t help, either, but what are you going to do?

Another bit of good news is that I had a wild dream last night that kept me up for an hour. However, during that hour, I may have turned it into a story. I’ll find out if it’s anything more than a fever dream today.

The bad news is that I still feel like crap, so posts might be a bit light. Just a heads up.
