Today, Wired posted a snippet of text that explores Winston Churchill’s “Shall We All Commit Suicide” in which he predicts drone warfare–in 1924. The passage points out that Churchill often included imagined futures or alternate histories in his speeches and writings. And Wired points out a possible reason why–Churchill was an admitted fan of science fiction, and imagined futures and alternate histories are at the heart of sci fi.
Or maybe it’s just a coincidence, however amusing. Either way, enjoy.
