Scotch Update: Safe & Sound, if Sleepy

Yesterday, I talked about how Scotch was at the vet getting a tooth pulled. Well, the good news is that everything went well, despite Scotch’s heart murmur and arrhythmia (yes, our poor little guy has a bunch of medical issues). He came home with a couple bottles of pills, and all was great.

The funny thing was that he was still a bit sleepy and groggy from the anesthesia and other medications. But Scotch’s routine at night is that he will stay up until we go to bed: only after we turn out all the lights will he go to sleep. This led to a long battle of wills last night. But his battle is your entertainment. I give you the canine equivalent of the sleepy head bob.

I had to grab my phone quickly because Scotch is notoriously camera shy, so I apologize for the vertical filming and all that stuff. Hey, at least you got a cute clip.

After a good night’s sleep, he’s doing great. He’s up and about and alert. He’s also becoming quite skilled at thwarting my efforts at preventing him from licking the shaved patch where they inserted the IV. Oh well. We’re just glad he’s home safe.
